So the correct answer is here, too, LibreOffice 5.4.x maintains compatibility with Windows XP. LibreOffice Portable 5.4.4 didn't work on some Windows XP machines due to missing libraries. LibreOffice Portable Still 5.4.5 works on a clean Windows XP SP3 install even without those libraries as they are bundled with the app. PortableApps.com will continue to update and support this Still channel through June 11, 2018 when LibreOffice Still 5.4.7 is retired and the Still track moves to 6.0.x and Fresh moves to 6.1.x. On June 11, 2018, LibreOffice will no longer have a secure, maintained version for Windows XP.

Not surprising as XP is 0.2% of Steam usage and they're likely switching to a modern compiler.
