Really interesting, my dear billon. If it ever comes to fruition, I'd be more than willing to take it up... 8)

What is Shorthorn Project?

I[t']s a project to transform Windows XP/2003 in a moderns systems, with beautiful interface, compatible and very fast, based in One-Core-API technology.

Firefox modern version running on Server 2003 RTM with Longhorn 3718 interface.

Seems like a one man project; the last commit to Github on the One-Core-Api repo is from May 2018. BTW, now that it's owned by Microsoft, it looks like a 'non-sequitur'...

Good News for XP users Basilisk browser is now ported to xp. (Note - Basilisk is a free and Open Source XUL-based web browser, featuring the well-known Firefox-style interface and operation). Although portable version is not available but old Palemoon Portable's launcher can be modified to make Basilisk browser portable.

You can download Basilisk browser for XP here -

Just to be clear, on their website:
Basilisk is development software. This means that it should be considered more or less "beta" at all times; it may have some bugs and is provided as-is, with potential defects.
An early-stage browser on an OS that's not seeing updates is probably not a recipe for good security, but maybe that's your cup of tea.

Thanks for clarifying that, but i think if someone is still using xp than they must be advance users and know what they are doing. I am just trying to help by giving the information.

That's a good point. Plus I know there are people that come to the site for any news on XP, so that's probably news they'd welcome.

After user Freakzoid comment (https://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1978#comment30500) in the Pale Moon TPFC database entry, I became aware that this XP compatible port could rather be called "New Moon" to avoid confusion with either Pale Moon or Basilisk....

EDIT: see also Mypal (https://feodor2.github.io/Mypal/)...
Mypal is a current and maintained Windows XP web browser. Mypal is based on Moonchild Productions’ Pale Moon code, which itself was forked from Mozilla’s FireFox code several years ago, but is also maintained and kept current.

While it's quite self-evident but just FTR, Pazera Free Audio Extractor v2.9 is then the last version supporting XP... :|
Version 2.10 (15.10.2019)

  • Support for Windows XP was dropped. Windows Vista or later is required. Maintaining compatibility with Windows XP would prevent the use of new technologies, audio and video encoders, and new FFmpeg features only available for Windows Vista and newer.

As noted by Ghacks.net (viewtopic.php?p=94799#p94799), AdwCleaner v8.0.0 no longer supports XP -- making v7.4.2 the last supported version.
