Like maybe release a new version then? Because my version is the latest (v4.17).
Sorry, I have been a bit busy recently. There will probably be a new release soon™. In the meantime, you can just grab the latest RC.

It's fine, I was pretty pissed that day, I love and use LameXP all the time, sometimes 10+ times a day and hearing the unavoidable "check" was getting on my last nerves...

At this point it's all about giving people one last chance to report regressions, and incorporating translation updates from our contributors.

So, yeah, except for minor translation updates you are not supposed to see any difference.

You should probably remove that "Jeopardy" update check if you cannot be bothered to keep your own program updated in a years time. Thanks for all the work you've done over the years, but that thing along made me switch away from LameXP. Now I just use foobar2000 as a nice little standalone portable version to do what LameXP used to do.

Well, you know, being "trapped" in the home office for ~1 year now doesn't exactly add to my motivation. You would think that you have more free time available now (because no commuting etc. pp.), but reality is that I spend most evenings getting the work finished that didn't progress over the day due to lack of drive or whatever - leaving little time to work on personal projects. But I will increase the grace period for the update checker in the upcoming release.

I'm not blaming you, life happens, hobbies change, what started 10 years ago might not something you care about now, but this happened IIRC last time too, and seems to be a reacurring thing every year:
viewtopic.php?p=94666#p94666

If this is going to happening every year on the dot, because of "life" or whatever, then just remove the dumb hardcoded constant nag with no way to disable it part you so seem to like, if people are getting a "year old - update now!" nag, then it most certainly isn't on the user. But do whatever at this point, because like I said I moved over to foobar now.

I definitely feel that. Part of me was initially excited, thinking I was finally going to be able to dedicate some real focus on the project. I've been able to do a few things like the site resource page and an updated testing process, but things like a video site intro, a dozen database additions, AVIF/AV1 advocacy, and more all remain on the backburner.

I do still use LameXP for my voice note conversion process (which also needs an update) so definitely appreciate whatever further effort you are able to put into it.
