Download Portable version @ http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/S ... 84955.html (You would still need to create a SubFolder "Temp" in the application folder and place in there SettingsTree.ini with the following code:

Code: Select all

Capture
Interface
Exporting
Editor

If this gets added, I think this should be the program home page: http://www.ondanera.net/ita/snappy.aspx

Like the side bar with the various captures, variety of export options, and template system that performs bulk operations. Tutorial videos are good:

... but I wish there was a better breakdown of the features on the site.

In my tests it couldn't capture windows with round corners and transparent borders. Well...the hunt continues.
It's portable,though.

If you are hunting for an app that can make transparent captures (images), FGWndGrab can do that:

Finally tested this out:

There's a menu that never stops being in Italian "Immagine", as well as other elements in the user interface. Tried changing languages, even deleting the default Italian file, but its still there. One or two elements it wouldn't be a big deal, but it was pretty distracting.

If anyone is interested, I've just updated Snappy to version 1.5.4. I've fixed several missing transalations here and there and added new features such as alpha channel capture for windows with tansparency/glass effects, several new filters, direct print support, extended batch operations, and much more. Portable version is now available directly from site:

Feedbacks are extremely welcome!

Thank you for posting!

I'm having trouble with the transparency.
Here is a Notepad2 window captured using Snappy, compared to the same window captured using WinSnap:

@joby_toss
I believe you need to change the capture mode to "AlphaChannel":

Settings --> Capture --> scroll down to "Window capture mode" --> drop down menu ... select "AlphaChannel"

Taken with Snappy:

Cool. Is the $14.84 wasted?

Btw, do you know how to disable check for updates feature? Can't figure that one out.

Actually you can't, there's no such option. Noted, I will add it in next release...

The current Snappy installer offers the possibility of creating a portable (stealth status unknown!):
[attachment=0]snappy-portable.png[/attachment]
Still some untranslated items: the green cross icon tooltip (bottom left) reads "Aggiunge una immagine specificata dall'utente alla lista degli scresnshots" and, in status bar, "Nessuna mail inviata"...
.
