NetSetMan 2.3.1
Site: http://www.netsetman.com/index.php?s=nsm.php

The authors introduce the program with these words ...
Are you tired of changing your network configuration every day on your notebook or computer? The same procedure every day?

On the go : changing..., at home: changing..., at the Internet café: changing..., visiting a friend: changing...

... It will do the work for you.
and then they show a good screenshot, better than my synopsis:
Image

Well, I guess that it can be useful for many of us...
but...

installation: download the file and then extract files with uniextract. Copy and rename the folder called {app} where you need (usually your usb device...uhm!!!). Execute by clicking on NetSetMan.exe.

Write settings: to application folder

Portable: I guess so... considering the kind of use... anyway writes few things into the registry:

Code: Select all

I use this program a lot, but I have found a problem with it. While it's still portable, there's an issue with running and using the command line options to change your settings. If you jump from machine to machine with it (assuming you will since this is for portable apps) you MUST refresh your list of network adapters once you move to another machine. Failure to do this will result in NetSetMan not updating anything since it's trying to alter the settings for a device not currently set.

The entry for NetSetMan should be updated to reflect that the installer has an "extract files only" mode; it's no longer necessary to install -> copy -> uninstall.

I ran it under Sandboxie (after seeing the update today), and it didn't create anything outside the destination directory and the user's temp directory.

Please merge this thread with that one (the same program submitted two times).

Topic update: NetSetMan v5.0 released (changelog at http://www.netsetman.com/en/txt/history).

Ghacks.net review seems to imply the six profiles limitation was removed:
One of the main changes of NetSetMan 5.0 is the switch from using .INI files for storing profiles to .XML files. The change eliminates the six-profiles per group limitation of previous versions and introduces support for nested profile groups.
