MonitorES - Monitor Energy Saver

#1 Post by I am Baas »

MonitorES is a small windows utility that helps you to turnoff monitor display when you lock down your machine. Also when you lock your machine, it will pause all your running media programs & set your IM status message to "Away" / Custom message(via options) and restore it back to normal when you back.

Can someone help testing this one on a multiple monitors setup?

Works fine on my two monitor setup. Great program that should be on every Windows computer. Licensed under Apache 2.

Didn't pause iTunes or Windows Media Player, however.

Edit: Sorry, was using Lite version. Does pause media players.

Possibly may be useful for some computers that get locked sometimes. :P

You might not run into the need much but it is a must have for office computers. Dual monitors with 20+programs open. Running music and several IMs.
You have to go to lunch but oh wait. You can't leave your computer open and unattended without locking it. It takes 5minutes to turn all the crap off.
This program is awesome. Thanks for the heads up!

Well put. If the entry gets accepted I'll be sure that's in the description.

Old thread update: I came back and tested 1.0.1b and I can't figure out how the new version works:

I've gotta setup a separate hotkey for all these operations? It won't let me do duplicate ones. Also, it doesn't support hotkey that involve the Windows key. The heck?

Project moved to https://github.com/ukanth/monitores
Current version still at: 1.0.1b
Claims to be portable

Virustotal:
MonitorES.exe ==> 3-46 ... Likely this is a false positive since MonitorES is open source.
MuteVista.dll ==>0-66
