RedCrab - The Calculator

#1 Post by I am Baas »

[Moderator note: this is the primary RedCrab program thread. View database entry]

---
RedCrab is a scientific calculator with a full screen formula editor. The mathematical expressions are not typed in a typical command line, but can be enter in an editor window similar to a piece of paper. The calculator display the result either under or next to the expression. The handling is easier than conventional calculator.

The calculator's editor supports the entry of complex algebraic equations like fractions, square roots, exponents, etc. for technical and scientific applications.

Several mathematical functions can be written on the same page. Results from one expression can be carried over to the next task.

You can save and load the formulas to create a formula library.

Complex tasks can be explained visually by importing drawings in bitmap format.

joby_toss wrote:Hello!
Is there any switch/command/trick we can use to force RedCrab not to write to the registry, but to a (ini) file in its own folder?
Writing the settings into the registry makes RedCrab capable of running from a USB drive, but the settings are lost when the PC is switched.
We would like to see it make into the database over at portablefreeware.com !
Thank you!

RedCrab runs from USB or CD drive.
RedCrab write few settings to the registry. Such as when you change font size, grid on/off, frame size, decimal place after the decimal point etc. By next start, RedCrab start with the same settings. But it is not important. When ReadCrab not found registry settings, it start with default settings.

Anyone see anything wrong here? :) God, I'm getting tired of such answers (polite answers to "in-existing" problems)!

@tproli: thanks for your launcher!

Got a positive response.
...I have it in my todo list for the next versions.
Offered solution:
I think one solution are menu option 'Clear Registry' and 'Write ini'.
I will give it a thought and email him back. Any input is welcome.
