Thunderbird supports OAuth though. If you've disabled cookies, you do have to enable them for OAuth to work properly. I am encountering the same problem wrt getting Gmail OAuth to work with Thunderbird, and I will definitely give this a try.

Re: Pegasus Mail - email client
Thanks again! I am using a not-so-recent version of Thunderbird, so maybe that's why I couldn't get it to work. Will try again, but good to know another option exists if that doesn't work.freakazoid wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 8:05 am Thunderbird supports OAuth though. You should upgrade OAuth should have been fully supported since TB 68.5.Andrew Lee wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 2:50 am Thanks again! Oh, then I think I might have misunderstood you.freakazoid wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 11:21 am You should upgrade OAuth should have been fully supported since TB 68.5.
I am using Thunderbird Portable 78.x. The problem I am having is that OAuth works, but I need to go through the browser-based authentication process every time it is restarted.
I tried all the remedies I could find on the net. I removed all the passwords and cookies, make sure cookies are accepted, started with a new IMAP profile etc. But still, every time I restart TB, it pops up the dialog from Google that asks me to give permission.
FYI, I tried the latest version of TB Portable 91.x and still getting this problem.

Have you granted Thunderbird access to your Gmail account?Andrew Lee wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 4:14 pmOh, then I think I might have misunderstood you.freakazoid wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 11:21 am You should upgrade OAuth should have been fully supported since TB 68.5.

No, I updated to 91.x but with my old profile. Will give it a go and see how it works out...freakazoid wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 10:58 am You probably already tried this, but did you use a fresh install and profile?

Re: Pegasus Mail - email client
Just a quick update. A fresh install did the trick, and I was able to copy my old emails over to the local folder. It was painful (because I had to re-add all my mail accounts and configure the settings to my liking) but necessary unfortunately.
Currently running the latest TB 91.10.0.

FYI - latest From the Pegasus Mail website: https://www.pmail.com/newsflash.htm
Update, June 2022 We have submitted Pegasus Mail to Google for validation, and assuming they approve it, we will release a v4.81 release with the code for OAUTH2 support the moment the approval is out (it's basically ready to go).
Just thought I would share, in case you were unaware

Just wanted to update this thread and say that the K-9 Mail Android app will support OAuth in the next major release: https://forum.k9mail.app/t/the-plan-for ... 200/4590/4freakazoid wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 1:53 pm I ran into a similar problem with GMail and the K-9 Mail app with Android. K-9 doesn't support OAuth either at the moment.
Also, Thunderbird has hired the lead developer of K-9 Mail and K-9 Mail and will be rebranded to Thunderbird sometime down the road: https://k9mail.app/2022/06/13/K-9-Mail-and-Thunderbird
