USB Defender

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

USB Defender

Didn't find it in the database...
USB Defender

Protect yourself from thousands of viruses that are spreading by flash drives. Today there are many programs that can be in your memory, waiting for any new flash drive to be connected. But wouldn´t it better to VACCINATE your drive once and forever? No more viruses. No more danger.
USB Defender was developed to be extremely easy in use. You can see just two buttons on it: "Protect" and "Unprotect". First button you are using to vaccinate your drive, second - to remove protection. After selecting any drive, program automatically detects, if there is any protection active and only one button will be available for you.

However, if another program has already tried to defend current drive some errors may happen. So try not to use this program among some similar (like USB Disk Security).

USB Defender is fully portable - so you can take it with you wherever you want.

Features:

Fully portable
Absolutely free
Easy GUI interface
Protection auto-detect function
Very fast in work
Only one exe-file
Powerful protection

Does it protect the computer or the flash drive?
Does it block the PC from running executable files stored on the flash drive?
Does it block the PC from saving files to the flash drive?

Sounds like a nice piece of software, but I'd love to know how it works (or at least exactly what it does).
The author's website doesn't seem to explain much either.

I contacted the author of USB Defender. Here's what the program does:
It removes some mbr bytes and bytes that contests to autorun files on your drive. So, there will be no way (if it is - its very difficult) to force virus autorun...
