It’s not ideal but the program does have a fairly good feature set for a freeware program and doesn’t stop working after the trial period so I think it’s still suitable for the database.

POP Peeper was "Liteware" but should be "Trialware/Freemium"

The entry for POP Peeper says "License: Liteware", which, according to the FAQ section, means: "a 'lighter' version of an existing commercial version, but still has lots of good functionality".
This was once accurate but, for a while now, POP Peeper has not come in separate free and paid versions: it comes in one "Freemium" version with an imposed 30-day trial.

Is the trial version the one that's currently linked in the DB entry? If so the entry could be update to reflect this, such as this entry, or this one (which apparently was downvoted so it could become private).

The download-link for POP Peeper v4.2 in its DB entry here goes to http://www.esumsoft.com/download/?prod=ppfree, which is the Esumsoft download-page for "POP Peeper Pro v4.2 Shareware/Freeware*" with its note saying: "* - POP Peeper Pro will revert to the freeware edition after the 30 day trial expires." (and this is the only POP Peeper option).

Actually it looks like the setup process we provide that includes the deletion of the Pro and Themes folders disables the 30 day trial bit.

Good suggestion, though.

So user Pendrive is reporting that this program is adware. It's been in the database for a long time and is fairly popular so I tried to verify without success. Is anyone else using this one?

I am but only occasionally and haven't updated it yet... I'll see what I can come up with.

BTW, the user report is at https://www.portablefreeware.com/index. ... mment31210.

As there seems to be some doubt, here is a screenshot
Not doubt, just making sure that it's not some odd or unusual configuration that enables the adware version. For example, the excellent FileOptimizer is technically adware, but you can turn off the ads.

Do you think you'll still use the freeware version or is the adware annoying enough that you'll start looking for alternatives?

Thanks for the additional detail and thanks to billon for updating the entry.

v5.1.1 - Apr 08, 2021

- Fix: When "make text bigger" (not DPI) is used, the message and account lists may extend too far down and overlapping the statusbar
- Fix: When starting POP Peeper, the main window may appear resized and repositioned in the top-left corner
- Fix: Some emails (typically certain newsletters) were missing parts of the email body
