This app is similar to Texter but much simpler; you don't have to remember abbreviations, just start typing and the tooltip box appears with the matching suggestions. The suggestion list gets narrowed as you type. Just hit 1 to 9 to insert the correspondent one. 'Love it!
Instructions:
1. To run TypingAid, first you need to prepare a list of words, saved as "wordlist.txt" under the same folder as the program file. The "wordlist.txt" included in the zip package is an example. It is advisable to save the words and phrases that you frequently type or lengthy technical terms that you need to work with.
2. The phrases contained in each line of "wordlist.txt" will be used for auto-completion. When the user types 3 characters that match the beginning of a word or phrase in "wordlist.txt", the scripts offers it as a suggestion tooltip. Many phrases could be matched up at the same time. Pressing the corresponding number beside a phrase will auto-complete it.
3. To add a new word or phrase to the "wordlist.txt", you may open and edit the file, save it then re-open the program, or you may use a shortcut key. First highlight a word or phrase that you are going add into "wordlist.txt", press Ctrl + Shift + C, the program will add it to "wordlist.txt" and reload itself automatically.
Additional pre-written "wordlist.txt" files can be downloaded from the app's homepage.
We should also keep an eye on what seems to be a more advanced version of this one: Artwinauto BlitzType application (a NANY 2010 teaser for now).

Re: TypingAid
This is alot easier than Texter I love Keyboard Shortcuts, but having to remember custom combo's kind of put me off using Texter. It's also ideal if your English isn't your native language...this wordlist.txt has 100,000 English words.
I wonder what the size limit of the wordlist.txt can be?

I didn't realize that the icon would be downscaled to 32x32, could I bother you again to use the attached icon? Sorry about that! The 128x128 one didn't downscale well.

Re: TypingAid
Ack... sorry again, the license is now GPLv3 (actually, it was GPLv2 before, it was never just "GPL").
