Great news but MIT license? It's OSS now? I can't find the code anywhere ...

Being able to connect to other Everything servers is fantastic. If I setup a local file server, I'll definitely use that to search it.

So, in fact there are advantages in avoiding betas and staying with v1.3.4.686 (which BTW does the job perfectly) ;)

Anyone know if there's an icon cache specific to Everything? I updated an icon for a filetype, refreshed the IconCache.db in Windows, and after a restart Windows itself is using the new icons but not Everything.

Tried rebuilding Everything's database but no luck.

Edit: exiting Everything then opening it again was successful. Nice.

Someone put together an Everything component that integrates with Window's standard search bar (or replaces it, I'm not sure):

https://github.com/stnkl/EverythingToolbar

It's definitely an upgrade for Window's own limited search function.

Something to underscore how valuable the Everything search tool is: there's a program in development for *nix that specifically references it as a design guideline: https://github.com/cboxdoerfer/fsearch

"Performance. On Windows I really like to use Everything Search Engine. It provides instant results as you type for all your files and lots of useful features (regex, filters, bookmarks, ...). On Linux I couldn't find anything that's even remotely as fast and powerful."

'Everything' is a wonderful app. It constantly gets me out of trouble by finding documents I seem increasingly to misfile.
