Great find!

I can confirm that it only writes to the .ini file in its own directory.

It's surprisingly powerful. Its great comparison options and filters, saved jobs and complete set of command line options make it a great backup program, not just a fast file copier.

How to extract: Download zip file and extract it to the folder of your choice. Delete Setup.exe.

License: Freeware / Open Source (BSD License)

System Requirements: Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista

Thanks ashghost

Why would you self promote your application here? From what I've seen, it's not even portable.

After 2 weeks of usage:

- it reaches faster transfer speeds than SuperCopier (10-20%);
- as long as a transfer is in progress the PC is very little responsive (FastCopy is not resource friendly at all), so while I can start viewing a movie and browse the web with SuperCopier working, this is not possible with FastCopy (my PC is old so I'd like to hear someone else's opinion on this);
- SuperCopier can intercept copy/move commands in files managers; I don't know how to make FastCopy to do this, especially with FreeCommander, so if anyone knows how, please post the method here;
- FastCopy's tray icon offers no info at all (I found its spinning useless), while SuperCopier's shows transfer progress percentage.

FastCopy seems to be on the "techie" side while SuperCopier on the "user friendly" one.
