Lingoes

Lingoes is a dictionary software. Dictionaries between "major" languages, as wel as English-English dictionaries and thesauruses such as Merriam-Webster are freely downloadable. Install it normally, copy the installation directory, and uninstall it.

Integration with web browsers and services are possible.

If you wish you can obtain the files using Universal Extractor.

Thanks for this posting joby_toss. Is there any chance you could make a launcher for it? I mean only if making a JPE launcher doesn't bother you too much. :D

I'm not sure a JPE launcher is really needed here (stupid empty folders!)...
But here it is (it's not tested more than 5 minutes, so be careful):

Hi joby_toss,

thanks for the launcher, it seems to work fine and it came lightning fast after I had posted my request. Respect. I knew that party thing on new year's eve was only a short term temporary distraction for you. :D

Hello folks,

We now have Lingoes Portable at version 2.6.3. Could someone tell me if joby_toss launcher still work? If yes could someone post a link to download the launcher, because the rapidshare link is always busy. If not cold someone make a new working launcher? As a student I cannot live without a good dictionary as Lingoes, but I am always "far from home", so a portable launcher that leaves no traces is a must as I am always working on "the others" machines. Thank you for your attention.

See you later,

Aeolis

Note: Lingoes is portable by itself, just not stealth (some unimportant log files are left behind). This launcher redirects everything.

Hello folks,

Thank you very much joby_toss! That is what I needed to work on "the others" machines: a stealth Lingoes. It's really better to do not leave any traces behind when you are not using your own machine even when they are not important files. Thank you for your attention and time. Thank you.

See you later,

Hello folks,

We now have Lingoes Portable at version 2.7.0. Dear joby_toss could you take a look at your launcher? I haven't been able to run lingoes portable. The following error message has been showing up:

Image

I have installed your launcher in the following path:

C:\Documents and Settings\CENTRAL\Desktop\Programas\Portáteis\LingoesPortable

But it seems that the launcher has some problems with it too. Does the launcher support Unicode characters in the path?

See you later,

Aeolis

P.S.: I have tried to build a JauntePE launcher myself following the 12-steps guide, but in the end the launcher showed the same error listed above.

2. can't find Lingoes 2.7.0 portable

Hello folks,

Thank you for your attention joby_toss. The link for the Chinese Lingoes homepage download:

http://www.lingoes.cn/zh/translator/tra ... .php?id=69

Lingoes is actually a Chinese project and its english homepage has not been updated for a few months. So I usually check the Chinese homepage for updates.

See you later,

Aeolis

I can't test my launcher anymore as it doesn't work on my win7, but the error you posted is not related to JauntePE, but to Lingoes itself.

@Checker

Did you test V2.8.1? Previous versions were not portable.
