Graph Paper Printer v 4.03

#1 Post by JohnW »

Graph Paper Printer is a "golden" oldie last updated in 2000. At a quick glance it looks quite flexible; at one time I could have made use of it. I never seemed to have the specialised graph paper I needed for specific tasks!

So what is it?

Graph Paper Printer is an application designed to print numerous kinds of graph papers, music manuscripts and pattern papers, with user-defined sizes and colors. The options are available through dropdown pick-lists:

Cartesian, polar, triangular, hexagonal, axonometric and dot diagrams.
Linear scales (metric, imperial, time, equal divisions, customizable).
Non-linear scales (logarithmic, quadratic, gaussian, square root,Weibull, logit).
Music manuscripts and tablatures.
Mercator grids.
Pattern papers (lines, bricks, losanges, ellipses, hexagons).

Several options are available such as ...

Easy mouse-adjustment of the margins and size of the diagrams.
Function "Keep" to save the user's design for later editing or re-use.
Switching from metric to imperial system.
Accuracy adjustment for exact divisions with any printer.
Copy/Paste of diagrams to other applications.
Portrait or landscape format.
Geometrically exact preview.
Scrollable Zoomed preview.

The site description implies that it is portable.

It's available from ...

Code: Select all

There seem to be a number of versions of this about.

http://www.freewareweb.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?ID=316 - Version 3.12
The site described above - http://pharm.kuleuven.be/pharbio/gpaper.htm - Version 4.03 (modified 19 Jan 2000)
http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?500000008486 - Version 4.20 (modified 28 Feb 2000)
http://www.pricelessware.org/thelist/biz.htm - Version 4.21 (modified 03 Jan 2001); described as the last uncrippled freeware version.

The latest version I have seen reference to was 5.4.0.2 which appears to have been released as shareware. The homepage there has been taken over by an ad portal.

Version was 4.03 added to snapfiles ( http://www.snapfiles.com/get/graphpp.html ) on 13 March 2008.

@Dormouse
Thanks - useful contribution.
Obviously the 4.21 version is the one to go for.
BTW the file date is 28.5.2000 (I don't know where Pricelessware got the 2001 date from)

You're quite right about V 5.4.0.2. No Home Site now but easily downloadable if required; it is shareware and would need a serial.

Thanks again!
