Yes I do run that version, may be it hates windows 8.1 64bits GENUINE edition so it gets nuts and goes bonkers with my system, ballistic with my file at random. Oh la la, I had a so bad experience with this software. :shock:
To be honest I don't know what bug inside the software triggered that reaction. I do not intend to even try to trace the problem... too scared of dynamite.

Some of the file the software put in quarantine had a lower security risk than the software itself.
I would have laughed out loud if it did put itself in quarantine. But it did not. :twisted:

AnVir Task Manager Free at version 8.0.0, I could only find change log at Softpedia:
here or here.

@tactictoe
You are not supposed to run anvir64.exe- it serves as a kind of x64 hook, just run AnVir.exe on both x32 and x64 systems.
AnVir Task Manager Free 8.0.0 didn't try to quarantine anything but I was using the INI file created by AnVir Task Manager Free 7.5.2- it only offered to block a recently added process to a Autostart (added after the last time I ran Anvir).

Edit
@billon
I was writing my post when you posted yours and I didn't see it before I posted mine.

I have a 64bits system but when trying to launch Anvir64.exe, even with administrator right: nothings is happening.
No problem whatsoever with Anvir.exe.
So I thought it might decide thru Anvir which version to launch?
And it is the case, both version are present in memory. Anvir64.exe is launched by Anvir itself after a couple of second delay (Detection of OS version).
Then I realized why Anvir64.exe is not unloading it's lil brother... The answer is inside the size of the executable.
Anvir.exe = 2918Kb
Anvir64.exe = 143Kb
It's a Mod, plugin or what ever you want to call it.
I know, thanks you anyway. Hope the update I do not have download so far will address the issue I had.

AnVir Task Manager is another example of a program whose developer makes internal undocumented changes to the program within the same version number, this is annoying.

I came back to this program and I'm definitely impressed. I was a bit frustrated by the lack of detail on what features are in the pro version, but as near as I can tell, there's no difference. Anyway, the number of features and obvious activity over time make it a great candidate for the database. Adding it to the list.
