Ska software http://skasoftware.com/
have several freeware games on their site.
Several of these I have determined to be portable the are

Supreme Earth Champion
A Galaga type space shooting game

Survival Crisis Z
You walk around ala crimsonland killing the undead in a 3D cartoony world

And Zombie Smashers X
A classic beat'emup consisting of you killing zombies and taking missions to fulfil a goal that I haven't a clue what it is.

You really have to try this game, the graphics aren't great but it all fit in well.

Anywhoo, they all store setting in the application folder and I didn't see any new reg entries that matter.

And to think I just got done promoting these games on another forum. Nice find Local, will give them the extra once-over to make sure they're portable but I'm quite sure that you're right.

There was another game made freeware by them called Blood Zero. It was a CRPG with a real time battle system. Shame it's not available on the site anymore - was their best work IMO.
