TextComparer - duplicate passage analysis

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

TextComparer - duplicate passage analysis

Basically when trying to find duplicate bits of text in a given passage or passages, there freeware options limited. So even though it's out of date, Text Comparer is good a candidate to handle this.

Things this could help with:
  • Coming up with boilerplate text
  • Over referencing (plagiarism)
  • Checking long documents for big changes that involve large chunks of text moving around
The default settings aren’t great and I didn’t see much in the way of documentation, but when you modify the comparison parameters, it’s able to find blocks of similar text:
