Ultracipher [Java based filesystem encryption]

#1 Post by Mixture »

From Softpedia:
Portable Ultracipher is an easy-to-use and secure software solution designed to keep your personal data safe with a set password, help you generate new ones, and take advantage of an elaborated encryption mechanism. The tool runs on multiple platforms with Java, namely Windows, MacOS, Linux, Solaris and Android. The panel provides a simple and modern menu with two resizable sections. The application safely stores passwords by using a strong multi-cipher encryption method.
There is no limit to how many entries you can have, and they can be given a title, tags, and description. Data is organized in the form of an ergonomic list, instead of conventional tree structures. The application is portable and can be booted from USB flash drives and run on other computers. You can import and export data in CSV format to make it compatible with other programs, generate new keys, and resort to an extra hardened integrated function against brute force attacks with CPU, GPU, FPGA or ASIC, as well as extremely strong encryption with 6 nested symmetric ciphers: AES, Twofish, Serpent, CAST6, SEED and Camellia with a total key length of 768 bits. Additional options include an on-screen keyboard and "File Digester", a program for calculating numerous message digests (e.g. SHA-1, MD5, RipeMD).

Homepage: http://ultracipher.de/ (not much here)

License: Apache (open source)

Probably needs jPortable and the Jar Launcher to run portably.
