Preamble
It often happens that when commercial programs switch to freeware the license change remains unnoticed. Several days ago I discovered accidentally that a program with a commercial background- Quasima Chrono Tracker, had become a unrestricted freeware, for both personal and commercial use. Because this is a powerful, sophisticated, feature-rich and highly customizable program and because it has portable version I decided to introduce it to The Portable Freeware community.

Synopsis

Quasima Chrono Tracker is a time tracking application for Windows desktop.
It allows you to keep track of multiple projects and categorize how much time you spent working on each of them.

Portability
Quasima Chrono Tracker has native portable version which saves settings in program folder (in LocalConfiguration sub-folder) and does not write to Registry and AppData, so the program is stealth. The user can specify where databases should be saved.

Instructions

• Download the portable installer (SFX ZIP archive);
• Run the portable installer (chronotracker-release-portable-30416.exe as of version 3.4.16) and choose extraction location;
• Alternatively extract the portable installer using 7-Zip or another file archiver;
• Run the executable (ChronoTracker.exe);

Requirements
Quasima Chrono Tracker runs on Windows XP (SP3) or higher and it requires .NET Framework 4.0 or higher.

License
Quasima Chrono Tracker is unrestricted freeware.

Chrono Tracker is a free application for both personal and commercial use.

Note
Quasima Chrono Tracker is a successor of applications formerly known as MapleXp and Quasima Time Tracker.
Quasima Chrono Tracker is in active development.
Quasima Chrono Tracker is relatively light program, it uses about 60 MB of RAM under Windows 8 x64.
Quasima Chrono Tracker comes with a detailed help file- I suggest that new users should read it.

Impressive. This is the most full-featured tracker I've seen. So far I had been using KapowPunchClock and TaskLog (an autohotkey program) - these two don't come anywhere near Quasima, feature-wise. Will give this a thourough test ride.

Once upon a time, Andrew handled all the program additions but over time it's been switched over to a more democratic process. Hopefully that means that only really solid programs get in. Anyway, you're welcome to start things off by adding it to the database.

I think it is a unique and outstanding app, and its .NET4 dependency shouldn't take away from that.

Hard to believe they made this free. Fantastic software, been using it for ages now without any issues.
