uGet at version 2.0.9, downloads & changes:

uGet 2.0.9: (2017-02-18)
1. Use character ↓/↑ to replace D:/U: to display speed.
2. avoid configure file corrupted on sudden shutdown.
3. curl plug-in: crashes when download file > 4GB.
4. Fix: program will move download to incorrect position if user switch to offline mode.
5. Fix: Segmentation fault after pressing delete key on gtk window.
6. Fix: Wayland hidden tray.
7. update translation files.

uGet stable v2.2.0 released, dated 2018-01-06 (changelog and download at sourceforge.net /projects/urlget/files/uget (stable)/2.2.0/).

Apparently, the previous homepage changelog address (http://ugetdm.com/changelog) has been deprecated, as it stopped with v2.0.8 back in 2016.

FYI, portable uGet custom 'Command line arguments template' for the Flashgot FF extension is as follows:

uGet v2.2.2 released 2019-05-20 (changelog: sourceforge.net/projects/urlget/files/uget (stable)/2.2.2/).

Please note that uGet's homepage (https://ugetdm.com/) still declares v2.2.0 released in 2018-01-13 as the latest stable.

How to obtain Portable version:
1. create an empty folder with name (for example) 'uGet Portable'
2. unzip in this folder the file 'uget-2.2.3-1-win32+gtk3.7z'
3. unzip of the file 'uget-2.2.1-win32-locale.7z' the folder 'locale' inside 'share' folder
--> this folder contains all localization files in format .mo (binary files) obtained with Poedit program
4. move the file 'uget-portable-mode' (this is a simple text file) from main folder of unzipped archive 'uget-2.2.3-1-win32+gtk3.7z' to subfolder '\bin'
5. done

Question
I have'n found the entry of this program in 'Categories' -> Download Managers: why not ?

According to the uGet website, 2.2.1 is the official stable release as of today. The download links on the uGet website point to the 2.2.1 downloads. So, I don't think 2.2.3-2 is released yet even though it's on SourceForge.

uGet Portable by PortableApps is Multilanguage, but inside program there are no link for change default language (english).

Here is a trick suggested by John T. Haller in this post https://portableapps.com/node/64013

No software update here, but I got a chance to test this out today to run a simple backup for one of my machines -- worked perfectly. Definitely putting this on the list of stuff to add to the DB. I forgot how much I missed the old Free Download Manager.

Resources: Low CPU usage, 13 megs RAM, 36 megs uncompressed.

uGet Portable do not automatically assume system language, so You must edit the file 'uGetPortable.ini' inside path 'C:\PortableApps\uGetPortable\App\AppInfo\Launcher' by adding a new line in [Environment] section:

the row is 'Language=it' if You use italian language.
If you omit the Language row, uGet will launch with english language (default language). But You can also put the row 'Language=en'
Save and restart uGet Portable: program show your selected language.

for change interface in other language You must check the exact value of ISO 3166 country codes:
1. look inside uGet program and check if your language is supported. See inside path 'C:\PortableApps\uGetPortable\App\uGet\share\locale'
2. look on internet for 'ISO 3166 country codes' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_I ... ntry_codes
3. put the two letter code in lowercase after the sign '='
4. done
