[Mod note: the present is the official forum topic for Euler Math Toolbox; http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=2601]

I saw X-Maxima was suggested and thought that Euler Math Toolbox would be a great idea as well.

Euler Math Toolbox is a numerical and symbolic math toolbox developed by a math professor (R. Grothmann) at the University of Eichstätt in Germany. Symbolic computation are done by working with Euler's native capabilities and also in junction with a seamlessly integrated version of Maxima (A Computer Algebra System). Euler Math Toolbox can also be used with Latex (portable version of Latex is available) and Python (a portable version is also available). Instructions to do so are located here on how to integrate Euler Math Toolbox with Latex and Python. Euler Math Toolbox also supports the capabilities of using the built in C compiler (Tiny C) to run C code for important mathematical routines where high performances are required.

Examples of problems solved with Euler Math Toolbox: http://euler.rene-grothmann.de/examples.html

Category: Education - Math
System Requirements: WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Wine
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: Yes
License: GPL
How to extract: Download the installer and extract to a folder of your choice. Create a new folder named Euler Files within same directory as euler.exe. Launch euler.exe for 32bit version of Euler Math Toolbox or euler64.exe for 64bit version.

Exact Installation for Portable from the Website: http://euler.rene-grothmann.de/document ... ation.html
Install the full version of Euler on a computer and copy the Euler directory in the program folder to the USB stick. This is the directory, which contains the Euler executable.
Create a subdirectory of the copied folder on the USB stick named "Euler Files". If Euler finds such a subdirectory, it will not use the registry, nor the user home directory. Euler will create a file with its settings on the stick.
You can then uninstall Euler from the computer, if you wish.
Start the Euler executable from the stick.

Euler Math Toolbox is now public in the database. A propos, Wikipedia has an extensive list of numerical analysis programs (portability status unchecked, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nu ... s_software).

Yeah I'm planning to test more stuff when I get more time. The next one on my list is currently RStudio. Natively it's not portable since it always save the settings the user's application data directory but I remember reading somewhere it can be made portable with a launcher or something. Will need to test that out. Anyway, thanks!

I've been thinking but could you add the following categories to Euler Math Toolbox:
Math - Calculators
Math - Graphing Tools
