For me, there's just one thing missing for it to be perfect: instead of the default 'CTRL' and repeated 'V' to navigate back in clipboard history (and 'C', to go forward), which does get cumbersome with clumsy fingers like mine (and over long histories), I would like to have a way to do it via keyboard shortcut.

My preference, as I use in another clipboard manager, would be to set 'CTRL+SHIFT+UP' to navigate back in history (and 'CTRL+SHIFT+DOWN' to navigate forward), with the single entries being displayed as a tooltip and getting selected when 'CTRL+SHIFT' are released, and then pasted with the usual 'CTRL+V'.

Should this ever get implemented, then I'll have no quibbles declaring Clipjump the tip top clipboard manager... ;
v10.6.2 - The things have changed . Now you can change search within paste mode and so something like what you wanted is indirectly available.
After Ctrl+V, press F and a search box opens. Now LEAVE Ctrl and search if you want OR use Up / Down keys to move up and down the clips without holding Ctrl. Press Enter to paste. .... more can be learnt in the docs.

Most probably, you can also make search box opened by default through ClipjumpCustom.ini (as you know another new addition) but I currently have not thought about the most perfect way.

  • I'll have to check that. I must confess I haven't been keeping up with the latest Clipjump development -- there's just so many things one can do in a day, and most of them have to be work related... ;)

Here is the customization to use -

Code: Select all

[paste_with_search]
bind=Win+V
spm.active=1
run=paste
run=searchpm
Now Win+V will have the search mode open with paste mode by default and so you will not have to press Ctrl to do navigation and pasting.

Thanks for that, I have now tested Clipjump v10.6.3 and everything works as you described. Most cool, indeed! 8)

One last request: is there a way to have the search tooltip re-positioned?

TO where ? at a custom fixed position .. like x546,y456 of your screen or so ..

It's possible, you will have to use ClipjumpCustom.ini

  • Ok, I'll look into it -- personally, I'd rather have it somewhere near the upper left hand side of the screen... :roll:
