Tested: Portable
Download: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia ... fCam.shtml
GifCam is a handy and reliable application designed to record the screen and to convert the recordings into GIF format.

GifCam stays on top of all open programs and acts similar to a camera, recording desktop activity and turning it into frames that will be incorporated into GIF animations.

Yes, GifCam is really a very nice tool, THANKS to guinness for bringing it to TPFC... A finder's fee should be in order here... Add an extra PayPal button next to the donation one

Pity however that (like in GifCap) mouse activity and some overlay windows are not captured :(

It would be nice to see the option to capture these elements being implemented in a future release.

As SYSTEM suggested in the entry, the latest version (v5) isn't portable. Author seems to know about it and doesn't appear to have much interest in application folder settings location: http://blog.bahraniapps.com/gifcam/#comment-52252

Edit: posted something further encouraging portability

Edit 2: the author was available to the concerns. Hopefully the next version will include a portable option.

GifCam have been removed from Softpedia for unknown reason.
I have several older (but portable) versions of GifCam, if someone needs them I can upload them.

I was tempted to wait until the next update but it looks like nothing's happening on that front. So yeah I guess if you can post something, I'd like to switch it to an older version.

I packed all the versions of GifCam I have (3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.1) into a 7Z archive and uploaded it, below is the download link:

If there is a problem with the download I can upload the archive elsewhere.
By the way the promised portability isn't implemented in the latest version of GifCam (5.1).
