WizTree - rapid drive space usage info
Re: WizTree
Thanks bitcoin for help proving I'm not crazy! even though I knew I wasn't because even Total Virus here proves that these connections do come from WizTree.exe and not from "my system"...
v3.36:

v3.35:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/8bc ... 5/behavior

As you can see 3.35 does not have this "problem".
So in the end it turned out to be Malware after all LOL!
Antibody, you might want to look into a better firewall setup , you seem to be part of a botnet without even knowing it, and who knows what other "connections" are freely coming and going without your knowing.
But in the end I'm glad we could figure this one out and I hope you can fix this, your programs seem to have this negative stigma between communities that I follow, I shill your work whenever I can, but then people always follow up reply with something like "they phone home" no thanks! Like in these two comments...

And I guess I cannot blame them because they technically do, and that's enough to turn people off and not come back when there are so many alternatives like "Everything", "SpaceSniffer", etc. I know if you didn't reach out to me in the comments here, I would have stuck with v3.35, until I felt like going to an alternative, because I won't deal with constant firewall nagging popups in my offline software.
But the fact that you reachout out too me here and did some digging I'll continue to happily shill your programs when I can. Lastly, FYI I'm on Window 10 1909.
Oh, and bitcoin and I will gladly accept a supporter code for all our hard work!

Re: WizTree
@Special - It's not malware - it's the windows API function "WinVerifyTrust" (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... erifytrust) that was triggering the Internet connectivity. I wasn't aware that this would happen so I've removed this function from version 3.37 (released today). Sorry I assumed your PC had malware.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback.

Sure, send me a pm with an email address I can use to create your free code.Oh, and bitcoin and I will gladly accept a supporter code for all our hard work!
Re: WizTree
Hey your words not mine "I checked the IP 151.139.128.14 and it appears to be linked to malware activity", and you're right, but so am I, Windows 10 is malware/botnet.antibody wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 3:05 pm @Special - It's not malware - it's the windows API function "WinVerifyTrust" (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... erifytrust) that was triggering the Internet connectivity.
Oh snap I was half-kidding on this, but will gladly take you up on your offer (I'll shill extra hard for now on for your great support as proven in this thread!)Sure, send me a pm with an email address I can use to create your free code.
Expect an email from mr_wh***********... in a few.
EDIT: Okay I sent you an email, but I think I goofed and the first one didn't go through, so I resent it... so maybe you got two emails from me, so oops if you did.
EDIT2: Received, and a big thank you! And can confirm that 3.37 is working "perfectly".

Re: WizTree
You can change the font size by editing the WizTree3.ini file directly. Increase the "fontheight" and "rowheight" values to suit. Only edit the file when WizTree isn't active or it will undo your changes when you close it.
WizTree3.ini lives in the same folder as WizTree.exe in the portable version, otherwise it's in %appdata%\WizTree3\WizTree3.ini
Re: WizTree
A small necro, for a small heads-up/warning.
So, I doubt this will affect any of you, but nonetheless, I upgraded to 4.09 from 4.08 today and it looks like past supporter codes are invalid now?
Went from:
To this:
Unless I'm missing something here... But I've upgraded in the past without issue so I dunno.
IMO it should've said somewhere that codes were only valid for only certain versions, I didn't see anything about that so that's why I'm posting here now, just to let others know.
Kinda bummed about this, but even still, I love this program, best in class IMO, and the dev seems like a chill guy as well (even posts on these here forums too, so super duper chill amirite?), def worth supporting if you can.

Re: WizTree
I checked and the code I sent you is still valid and should be valid for all versions. If you updated your O/S or changed your hard drive it might invalidate the license info. Try entering it in again.Special wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 4:46 pm A small necro, for a small heads-up/warning.

Re: WizTree
Forgot to mention he also has some freakishly enhanced super tech support speed. By God!
^^ Hey! Nothing like that, still the same old as sin computer... All I did was copy the "new" exe file over while keeping the "old" .ini file intact, honestly I didn't have much time to try things out and maybe I goofed. I didn't try to re enable the code either... I'll try playing around with it next time when I'm able and not so damn swamped with stuff and tired. /RIP

A quick update as to not leave you hanging, it works!

Seems all I needed to do was re-add the key, I really should have tried that beforehand, but I didn't have access to my email then either, so couldn't...
Other then that, I went back to 4.08 (shock!), I was testing out the new "features" and what not, and I very much strongly dislike the new double clicking/files & folders dragging, etc. behavior, and much prefer the old way. I feel like now I'm going to make a grave mistake moving something somewhere by accident when I didn't mean to. The old way was perfect with the right-click context menu for interacting. Open explorer, copy a file, cut, open it, etc. all done via right-click, much less likely to do something I don't want to do. This is all personal preference of course.

Re: WizTree
<3• It is now possible to disable the new drag/drop and double click to open functionality added in 4.09. To do this close WizTree and edit the WizTree3.ini file and change these 2 settings in the [frmWizTreeMain] section:
[frmWizTreeMain]
enabledragdrop=0
enabledoubleclickopen=0

Re: WizTree - rapid drive space usage info
Man all those tweaks are freaking amazing, and thanks so much for the "Classic theme" returning, it was really bad IMO, and I was dreading having to finally update my copy to the latest because of that (I was a few versions behind...), and I wouldn't say laggier (lol sorry), but it did make everything much harder to use personally, what with tiny thin scrollbars and rounded corners I'm not use too, etc. Windows 11 is such a disaster... Please don't go out of your way to copy that. :/
It's also nice now having a window for those tweaks too, some of them were deal breakers for me when they were added, and even though I knew they could be reverted in the ini, it's nice just having a clean little interface window for them all.
I really don't know how this thing still keeps on improving, needless to say great job.
