TCExplorer is a portable software to import, export, delete, and rename files in TrueCrypt containers without needing admin rights. This is basically a GUI for the wonderful OTFExplorer by tateu.
TCExplorer includes OTFExplorer in it already so you do not have to download OTFExplorer separately. It is one exe file that creates a single ini file. I checked the registry and there is nothing in HKCU\Software nor HKLM\Software, but others might want to check more thoroughly.

The author of TCExplorer has been very reactive (2 bugfixes in 2 days) and has a discussion going at http://portableapps.com/node/7277 .

Hi,

Is anyone else experiencing a problem of windows shutdown if you use Truecrypt on the same file after adding data by drag-method with TCExplorer in the same login session?

System specs: Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2, 1gb of ram

Using: TCExplorer V1.4

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create FAT file with TrueCrypt (600 MB in my case)
2. Add some data to mounted file (Word docs, Jpegs etc.)
3. Dismount
4. Open same file with TCExplorer and drag some new data into the file (some more Jpegs in my case)
5. Close file
6. Mount file with Truecrypt again, and try to view an image that was added during the TCExplorer session (Instant crash - blue Windows error screen, restart).
7. Repeat process after restart it happens everytime, but only when trying to view the images that were added in the TCExplorer session. All other files and folders work as they should.

Any assistance would be appreciated, especially as to more instruction how to use this product and what to avoid. I posted a comment here first:

I think it would be advisable to make a note on the forum entry for TCexplorer.

As of version 5 of Truecrypt it will not work.

From the support forums
Josh Harris created OTFExplorer which accesses TrueCrypt 4.x (LRW) containers using the container's password (no keyfile support; among other slight limitations). OTFExplorer is command-line-driven with no GUI (graphical user interface). Josh seemed to lose interest in the project and stated that he didn't have the expertise to add a GUI. It remains to be seen if he (or someone else) will take up the task of upgrading OTFExplorer for TrueCrypt 5.x (XTS).
Perhaps someone could ask him kindly in his forum:
I can't wait to see what happens with this but until something does we're gonna have to stick with Truecrypt 4x or no TCexplorer =(
