The Colour Contrast Analyser (CCA) helps you determine the legibility of text and the contrast of visual elements, such as graphical controls and visual indicators.

Features:
WCAG 2.1 compliance indicators
Several ways to set colours: raw text entry (accepts any valid CSS colour format), RGB sliders, colour picker (Windows and macOS only)
Support for alpha transparency on foreground colours
Colour blindness simulator

I know this seems like an incredibly niche tool for an extremely small audience, but I've lost count of the number of conversations I've had about light text on a light background and visa versa. It's not even about having poor vision or accessiblity. Having something that can directly declare "this is the wrong color combination" and lists a standard is huge.

Great suggestion.

Unfortunately, web designers and software developers in general are rarely required to have a background in usability / accessibility / UIX :(
