Desk Save

#1 Post by Midas »

Haven't seen this around, so I'm submitting it to the forum for member input.

DeskSave (http://www.desksave.de), is an utility to save and restore one's desktop icon layout, that can be made to run portable.
www.desksave.de wrote:In Windows, when screen resolution changes, the order of the desktop icons very often gets mixed up. With DeskSave it is quite easy to recover a previously saved icon layout either manually or automatically. Software developers are given the opportunity to test their applications in different screen resolutions without disarranging the desktop icons.

P.S.: There's an older but similar solution I have been using forever here, but it was last updated in 2004...

To run in portable mode, launch DeskSavePortable.bat.

Settings: Application folder
Tested: Portable

On Win 7 64 the save to file does not work. I get an error:
---------------------------
DeskSave - Error
---------------------------
Desktop not found!

Error code: 0 0
---------------------------
