CD\DVD burner with a few extra's

cdrtfe is a Win32 front end for some functions of Jörg Schillings cdrtools.
With VCDImager VideoCDs can be created. Furthermore, cdrtfe supports the basic funcions of the Mode2CDMaker which makes it possible to create CDs that can contain about 13% more data as usual (Mode 2 Form 2: 738 MiByte instead of 650 MiByte, 795 MiByte instead of 700 MiByte).

cdrtfe supports the following features:
Data CDs
Audio CDs (including CD-Plus)
XCDs
Video CDs
Audio track extraction
Project files
Can be used with commandline options
Windows Explorer integration
Multi language support
DVD support: Data and Video DVDs
Remote drive support via RSCSI

It uses prodvd\cdrecord as the burning engine. The oficial version needs to be registered (free, updated every few months). Instead you can use a modified version that doesn't have to be registered:http://www.paehl.com/open_source/CDRTOO ... VD_Support
(download the latest DVD version with OSS-DVD extension)

The program uses an .ini file for storing its settings. Under Win2k/XP it will be created in one of the following folders:
1. Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\cdrtfe
2. Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\cdrtfe
3. Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\cdrtfe
4. <program folder of cdrtfe>
When starting cdrtfe the first cdrtfe.ini that is found will be loaded. The
folders are searched in above order.

Move the ini file from location 1 or 2 or 3 to the program folder. That makes the program portable. Well, it still creates an empty cdrtfe folder here:Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\cdrtfe, but that is probably acceptable. :)

Joerg Schillings was the (almost) invisible developer who developed the libraries of cdrtools used for working (mostly writing) with Cdz, DVDz, BDz, etc. used in cdrtfe and many other utilities of this type.
We owe him so much!
