Clever Dictionary and Article Rewriter (broken abandonware)

#1 Post by webfork »

Background:

I'm doing a lot more writing from scratch lately and looking for tools that can help with that process. Basically posting about these in order to discourage other users.

Clever Dictionary

I came across a great idea for a thesaurus, unfortunately a dead trialware project:

It did Uniextract successfully but I didn't get very far into testing as the program itself isn’t functional.

Article Rewriter

Also worked with Uniextract but listed synonyms were kind of a joke, doesn't really work. Avoid.

Commercial and very restricted.

EDIT: Very slightly different version by another company or a clone:

You could use "GoldenDict" with the "Roget's Thesaurus".
Search for "Babylon Roget the new thesaurus.bgl".

/* EDIT */
Also : "Soule's Dictionary of English Synonyms.bgl"
