AnyDesk

Read about this app on ghacks.net today.

AnyDesk is a new remote desktop app from a few of Teamviewer's ex-programmers.
https://anydesk.com/

Under its "Features" page, it states you can run AnyDesk from your USB drive without admin rights.

Haven't tested the app yet for stealthiness, so someone who's interested in this should do some testing and report back :)
is it stealth? ;)

It's a cool idea and I have definitely been hoping for a better remote desktop codec (should be more like a slideshow than a video) that's built to be cross-platform rather than this RDP close-enough thing that I've been seeing for everything outside of Mac and PC.

Thanks for the post. Hopefully they keep a free version available. Was a little surprised they didn't have a clear security breakdown with some ordinary tunneling trick.

AnyDesk does it for me, free for personal use. Simple, fast, effective, and unattended in the free version.

Looks pretty good -- a review I came across says: "AnyDesk run in portable mode by default but you can install it like a regular program if you like" https://www.lifewire.com/anydesk-review-2625154 Cross platform and router-friendly.

I use both AnyDesk and TeamViewer, as TeamViewer tags computers it is used on with a corporate license (if you use one), and you can no longer use it for just personal use on that computer. However, there was a problem with AnyDesk used on Android phones, which they address here:

Topic update: AnyDesk v6.2.2 released 2021-02-18 (changelog at https://anydesk.com/en/downloads#changelog).

I believe AnyDesk has gone payware and I'm ready to move the topic to the appropriate forum -- let me know if you disagree.

Softpedia appears to corroborate that idea so yeah, I'm comfortable with that.
