I’m sharing my launcher for Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum (TMC Platinum) and a guide how to make portable package.

About The Launcher
__________________________________________________________________________

- Launcher makes TMC Platinum fully portable.
- Supports relative paths (Output, Snapshot folder, recently used).
- It's an empty launcher: holds no registration info or any TMC Platinum's program files.

How To Create Portable Package (Guide)
__________________________________________________________________________

- Download and extract 'ATMCP_Portable_Launcher.zip' to location of your choice (USB,...).

Option #1
- If you have already installed TMC Platinum, create 'App' folder in Aiseesoft TMC Platinum Portable folder.
- Copy all folders and files from the installed location (default path: %ProgramFiles% -> Aiseesoft Studio -> Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum) into Aiseesoft TMC Platinum Portable -> App folder.
Option #2
- Download the installer and extract the contents of installer - you can use Universal Extractor - into Aiseesoft TMC Platinum Portable folder.
- Rename '{app}' folder to 'App'.
- Delete: '{tmp}', 'embedded' folders and 'install_script.iss' file.
Option #3
- Download the installer and install TMC Platinum.
- Create 'App' folder in Aiseesoft TMC Platinum Portable folder.
- Copy all folders and files from the installed location (default path: %ProgramFiles% -> Aiseesoft Studio -> Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum) into Aiseesoft TMC Platinum Portable -> App folder.

Run 'TotalMediaConverterPlatinum.exe' in Aiseesoft TMC Platinum Portable folder to start Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum Portable.

How To Register TMC Platinum Portable

Note: 'Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum.ini' file is created on the first run.

To register TMC Platinum Portable open 'Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum.ini' file (App folder in your portable package) and enter your activation data under 'Registration' section.

TMC Platinum Portable Settings

- TMC Platinum Portable settings are stored in 'settings.reg' file (App folder in your portable package).
- Launcher creates settings file backup automatically.

To restore program settings from backup delete 'settings.reg' file.
To create new backup file delete 'settings.bak' file.

Launcher works OK, but cannot register Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum (from offsite - http://www.aiseesoft.com/) with register data from http://giveaway.glarysoft.com/totalmedi ... .3.30-162/.

Exe from glarysoft.com cannot uniextract.

Inno - 0.36.
What is problem?

1. The registration info must be placed in the appropriate place inside the 'Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum.ini' file that get created in the App folder after first run -- not entered via the program interface;

2. The Glarysoft file doesn't allow UniExtraction because it's a binded executable packed in a non-conventional method, containing both the GAoTD online checker and the installation package -- you need to execute it first, then look through your '%TEMP%' folder for the real installer (I haven't tried it, but the official ATMCP installer might allow you to UniExtract and register it).

I have done this and it works ok
The method I used was the same as Midas's point 2 above

ie start the install
it then displays something like 'checking offer is valid at GlarySoft'
then prompts for your 'Language'
STOP here and you will find a temp entry (where Midas said) that starts with an underscore like '_aiseesoft etc etc .exe'
thats the exe to grab, rename and UniExtract
Quit the Install & tidy up etc

I have used point 1 above - uniextract original total-media-converter-platinum.exe from Aiseesoft Studio - 6.3.28.0, 25Mb.

Activation didnt work.

I re-created the launcher with yaP and just found a missing quote in my code... thanks 3K3!

(and also for the giveaway info and the launcher, of course)

For the registration info error: check your settings.reg in the App dir if it contains the registration info. If yes, delete those lines and see if it helps.

settings.reg has no registration info, but this above -

Glad to hear you solved the registration issue and you are welcome.

I usually write in my guides also about other possible building options. Didn't this time. Now I see that I should so I updated the first post and added additional building options to the Guide section.
By now you already know that giveaway activation data works only with the giveaway installer and others (Midas, NickR) have correctly explained how you can extract/get GlarySoft's TMC Platinum giveaway installer. So nothing here to add maybe just that GlarySoft's giveaway wrappers - for now - always extract the installer file in %Temp% -> GlarySoft folder during installation.

yaP imported .reg files to registry without double quotes around the path so it failed with spaces in path. Silly mistake I know
