croc (secure file transfer utility)

#1 Post by Midas »

croc looked interesting enough, so here it is...

If you send croc and a pre-configured pass-phrase, any Windows user will be prompted upon launch, and if it is entered correctly, the download will proceed... this will work on different platforms, like Linuxes, too.
croc is a tool that allows any two computers to simply and securely transfer files and folders.

croc latest release (currently v8.6.10) can be downloaded from https://github.com/schollz/croc/releases.

Very nice. That is the short animation explanation I wish I saw in every program I came across.

croc - file transfer tool

#3 Post by freakazoid »

I needed to send a large file to another person and didn't want to use file hosting or FTP.

I came across croc: https://schollz.com/blog/croc6/. It works great.

Rather than explaining how the croc cli works, a GIF is a thousand words:

The other person does need to have croc available, but it's relatively easy to show someone how to use it via command prompt.

I've added it to TPFC CLI here: https://cli.portablefreeware.com/?id=572
is it stealth? ;)

Ah shoot, there's already a thread about croc here: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=25480

Mods, please merge with the other thread. Sorry!

(Note from Andrew: Done!)
is it stealth? ;)
