YAWL - workflow system

#1 Post by webfork »

Background

So this is a little more specialized than I usually get into, but as there are dozens of uses for simple flowcharts, I was hoping a more complex and mature program would open other doors. Unfortunately I didn't make it very far into this.
Create complex workflow applications using a powerful modelling language and a BPM workflow system wrapped in a control panel and process editor

YAWL was created as a workflow management language that integrates accurate graphical representation and control-flow patterns, which help it distinguish itself from the other available languages. In addition, it uses XML schemas, XPath and XQuery to capture the data perspective, making it compatible with a wide array of standards.
Status: Non functional. I couldn't get it to happen portable via jPortable and with various installer workarounds (or straightforward ones even) so basically putting this on a shelf. Not sure what went wrong here.
