Portscan & stuff - speed test, network search, port scan

#1 Post by webfork »

From the maker of my favorite PDF printer "Doro," and the excellent Homedale, Portscan & Stuff covers a lot of network operations you didn't know you needed.
Synopsis wrote:Find all active devices on your network. Discover the ip address and available services for each network device. Run a speed test to check your internet connection speed. Ping and Traceroute devices. Query WhoIs and DNS server about domain names ip addresses.

PortScan offers similar and more functionality than the Network Utility on macOS.
Background

Due to an unstable main machine, I've increasingly been giving tasks to separate machines on my network and connecting to them over the network and using RDP for my desktop. Unfortunately keeping track of all these devices is getting harder and one or two of them aren't maintaining the same IP address between sessions. As such I started digging into a portscanner and have to say this one blew away everything I've tested before.

Great stuff.

Status: not portable, writes to registry
