I have not delved deep into it but it seems that Altap Salamander cannot be my favourite file manager- no Unicode support, no tabs, no portable version.

EDIT: Since I don't want to update the thread with a "no updates" notice, I'll just modify an existing post to say it looks like this project has been discontinued. No updates since 2019.

As noted before, this program is loaded with features and definitely a good program to have. A few features really worked well for me:

* The program's search function is very good for a freeware tool, although it won't find information in MS Word formats such as docx, xlsx, or pptx. I had mixed results with LibreOffice files
* Duplicate finder function worked very well
* Very wide viewer support of a host of file types
