Gravit - vector design editor

#1 Post by tproli »

A cross-platform design tool for the 21st century

Gravit Designer is a full-featured, free vector design app right at your fingertips.

You can use it online or download as a desktop app, there is a "Portable" package too:
https://designer.io/#download

Unfortunately settings are saved to 3 places (appdata, localappdata, etc), but hopefully this will change soon:

I've been watching the project from the very beginning, now they have been acquired by Corel:
We are back with the first big release of Gravit Designer after the acquisition by Corel

A few months back I went looking for a good freeware vector editor, so this is great to see. Initial testing on this program was positive, with even basic operations feeling intuitive and useful. I'm sad that the Corel acquisition means that it'll go commercial or, at minimum, some form of freemium.

Good post, tproli.

New update out: https://designer.io/changelog/

Looks to still be freeware, but the post requesting portability isn't seeing movement: https://discuss.gravit.io/t/portable-ve ... files/6414

It remains unclear what elements are going to be free and which will be premium.

Retested version 3.5.3 again.

License: Registerware. You can enter any old username and password but the program claims to deactivate in 3 days without a code. Still, that's plenty to just demo out some of the tools and features to see if it's something you could use.

Status: still not portable.

Update: Still in development, seems to be fairly active. https://www.designer.io/en/changelog/

Something I keep running into is crappy images so when I saw that Gravit will support conversion from "raster images to vector groups with one click via Vectorize image command" that's definitely something I'll be looking into.

License: Still Registerware / freemium. Pricing details: https://www.designer.io/en/pricing/
