Old thread update: This program is still under development with a release last month:
http://www.ocrfree.net/download.php version 8.8.1
Unfortunately, Uniextract didn't work and the program is now bundleware, offering to install Yahoo search during it's install.
The FreeOCR site write that program has been released on January 08, 2021.
Try this:
1. download from Softpedia the GUI
InnoEx https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programmi ... noEx.shtml for 'InnoUnp.exe' (release 0.50 of 18/12/2020 ->
https://sourceforge.net/projects/innoun ... r/download)
2. open the installer 'SuperGeekFreeDocumentOCR.exe' with InnoEx (already updated)
3. select only files contained in folder {app}
4. in menu bar press 'Extract'' -> Selected files -> Proceed
5. rename the folder {app} as 'FreeOCR' or with a name you like.
6. run 'SuperGeekFreeDocumentOCR.exe' (see below list of files)
In new folder {app} You obtain these files:
Code: Select all
11/03/2020 21:54 2.505.216 goup.exe
22/02/2012 15:54 7.749.632 ievision.dll
10/09/2020 14:31 859.648 SuperGeek Free Document OCR Update.exe
10/04/2012 17:24 36.518 supergeek.png
19/08/2019 16:43 4.427.776 SuperGeekFreeDocumentOCR.exe
13/12/2016 15:37 87 version.dat
Notes
• the installer 'SuperGeekFreeDocumentOCR.exe' is created with Inno Setup Compiler and using InnoEx probably you can avoid Yahoo search.
• not tested if portable: probably not because there is the file 'SuperGeek Free Document OCR Update.exe'
• the executable has the same name as installer
