Marp - Markdown presentations

#1 Post by webfork »

I deal with presentation tools a lot but haven't seen much in that area from available freeware. Fortunately, Markdown continues to open doors to what used to belong to standard productivity tools, opening the way for some batch search-and-replace operations for both text and formatting that aren't possible with commercial tools like PowerPoint and Keynote.

Caution: As with so many Markdown programs, lately this is unfortunately Electron (resource intensive). It's early stage but definitely an indication that this can quickly make solid presentations that look good and are easy to edit.

Status: Not portable, writes to AppData\Roaming\Marp

I've been using this program to rapidly mockup basic presentations, just adding a "---" to separate slides. This is so far really great.

Recommend new users load up the available intro from the Help menu.

Program appears to no longer be downloadable so here's a mirror link. The download is in 7zip format.

It appears there is simply a new(er) version dubbed "Mark Next" for VS Code and a Command Line version

Releases (incl many older versions it seems, expand "assets" if you don't see a direct download link) via GH https://github.com/marp-team/marp-cli/
