Your link was fine - I used it soon after you posted it, and it works from Opera 11.10. I think the_watcher is right - I get a 404 error if I try to visit the page in Firefox, and it doesn't show up if I search for it using Firefox, but both work from Opera 11.10.

Weird! But if you navigate to https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensions/ the 404 error isn't present. Anyway I think my Firefox days are over. I only use Firefox for the RSS Feeds in the Bookmark Toolbar, something which I would love to see in Opera instead of the RSS Reader used in Mail.

Okay, I found how why the link wasn't working.
I had the user agent set to Firefox, but forgot to set it back to Opera!

So Opera detects the user agent and serves the page if you're using Opera only!
is it stealth? ;)

Native in Opera and I believe an AddOn in Firefox, don't you love the overall roundedness of Opera :D

Seems like opera adblock uses a new URL Filter API, which was introduced in one of the 11.10 beta versions,
and that's the reason why the page is not available if you try to access it without opera 11.10.
Check this post in fanboy's forums

Has anyone compared the different adblockers available now for Opera?
I was delighted by the fact that now with Opera AdBlock a comfortable extension using different adblock lists was available, but I experienced worse results than with my own costumized urlfilter.ini (I think it was once based on a Fanboy list). So I deactivated Opera AdBlock again. I'll try AdSweep in combination with urlfilter.ini now.

You can add your own list using Adblock:

I know, but with certain ads (e.g. on http://www.heise.de) it just wouldn't work, neither with any of the readily available lists nor if I manually costumized AdBlock. Strangely enough, with my custom urlfilter.ini, it's OK...

Ghacks appear to be in favour of using Opera since these posts have been added in recent weeks about "Discovering Opera" - http://www.ghacks.net/tag/discovering-opera/

I truly believe that if Firefox wasn't Open Source then Opera would have taken the lead by now in the browser wars.

I have been using Opera since v9.
It's been a few years now, and i have never known Opera to not be free?

Was Opera payware at one time?

F.Y.I
I switched from Firefox years ago and never looked back.
One of the features that hooked me was the CTRL + Enter for the Password Manager.
There are many nuances that have to be experienced, this is why Opera users rarely argue or boast about how much better Opera is.
It's hard to explain, you just have to experience it.. (i.e. Right-click Paste and Go, more polished appearance, progressive features, etc)

Yes, though if you didn't want to pay for it, it would display a banner ad in the corner. It switched to freeware around version 8 I think.

Nice to see Opera getting a little Lifehacker love. for several years they haven't talked very much about Opera aside from announcing releases and new features.
