I think most of my others are very personalised...they do things with programmes I have on my pc, etc
Name Swapper is another amazing creation!!!

So far Switcheroo http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.p ... o&m=Search is resembling the concept but unfortunately it does not support folders and your Name Swapper handles very nicely both files and folders.

A small improvement (if I may suggest it) would be if you could drag both files/folders in one go and just drop them both (together) over the GUI rather than having to drag&drop one file/folder at the time in the 2 separate boxes.

Everything you've asked for is now done:
http://www.speedyshare.com/files/245144 ... wapper.zip

That's my cue to leave and get back to the grid-stone.

All the best and I hope you have lots of pleasure from the programmes :)

Absolutely perfect!

Thanks again for both programs, for the unbelievable patience and for the very prompt response!

All the best to you and take care, buddy

Thanks again, buddy (I owe you big time)... Over and out

Click on a window - then hold down the windows key and press numbers from the number-pad to position it. Pressing the same number again cycles through size-percentages.

Again - I made it for my own use, but if someone wants it...

This is pretty neat.
Only seems to work tho,if the NumLock is engaged
at least on my computer

Thanks handsomejoe.boy,
I think these are all pretty nice :)

Hello Napiophelios

Glad to hear it is of use to you - I can very easily change it to also works when NumLock is not engaged, if you would prefer.

While I am changing it - why not check to see if spicydog would be kind enough to design you a better icon? ;)

Let me know.

Ha ha ha... Please look me in the eyes (virtually speaking) and tell me you don't like the new icons of Win Sorter and Name Swapper

Nappy -as far as I am concerned- is AWOL... I would be very surprised (but happy) to hear from him at least under his real identity ;)

In case you were missing my suggestions:

Simple Name Swapper - for files or folders <<-CHANGE the titlebar caption TO->> Name Swapper
Drag and Drop item 1 here. <<-CHANGE TO->> Item 1:
Drag and Drop item 2 here. <<-CHANGE TO->> Item 2:
Drag two files or folders into the boxes above <<-CHANGE TO->> Drag two files or two folders and drop them together anywhere into this panel
Click to switch names <<-CHANGE TO->> Click here to swap names between item 1 and 2

A nice touch would be if you could add somewhere on the GUI a small "Keep always on top" check box (already selected by default)

Hi spicydog

Yep - I admit...I much prefer your icons :)

I really have to get back to work now, or I won't be ready for Monday - but I coudn't resist adding a quick "Keep always on top" tickbox for you.

http://www.speedyshare.com/files/245237 ... wapper.exe

Hope it helps - bye.

Yes, I understand that you couldn't resist... I would have felt the exact same way myself

The reason why I suggested the new dialogs (which you only followed as far as the titlebar) was simply to offer the user a concise "How to" (I took advantages of the very broad button to do that).

Since you implemented that nice improvement that enables dropping 2 files/folders together (rather than one by one into each box) I thought that the new dialogs were more consistent with what (the current version of) Name Swapper does... The old dialogs might mislead the user into thinking that files/folders still need to be dragged one by one into each box.

Thanks for having added the tickbox... See you again next weekend, pal  and THANKS again for everything.

Yesterday I fixed some lists and archives on an external HDD and I used intensively both Name Swapper and Win Sorter (both extremely useful) and guess what I have for you? ...

...New suggestions:

Drag and Drop item 1 here. <<-CHANGE TO->> Item 1:
Drag and Drop item 2 here. <<-CHANGE TO->> Item 2:
Drag two files or folders into the boxes above <<-CHANGE TO->> Drag two files or two folders and drop them together anywhere into this panel
Click to switch names <<-CHANGE TO->> Click here to swap names between item 1 and 2

NO LONGER NEEDED -->> A nice touch would be if you could add somewhere on the GUI a "Clear boxes" button (if you accidentally drop the wrong file/s or folder/s the only way to clear the box/es -without swapping names- is to close and restart the program... So that button would be quite handy). THANKS TO SlowLearner's hint (see next post):

Thanks for that spicydog some good software

I'll try and have a look at the other software over the weekend.

BTW - did you know, with the name changer if you drag another file into the box, it automatically updates the item
(no need to close)
