hm I just noticed but the file associations doesn't save if you put them in through the manage window. Instead of opening up the ini and typing settings in

also does it let you pick if you want it to copy some file types and move others? or is it one or the other for all?
and ugh... how do i associate an folders? I mean what extension should i put to do that. Like i drag folders 1,2,3 and want them to go into folder A

Thank you for this excellent program - just what I was looking for!!!

Just two observations for the moment:

1. Can the "Manage Duplicates" provide for "rename" and accordingly for "Process Mode" to append suffix (user preferred - say 001) or to be completed automatically (developer preference).

2. Can the icon be made transparent as it currently covers window real-estate (a transparent cube or the like might be suitable).

A feature request: command line usage

For example:

Positioner.exe "D:\MyDir\"
Positioner.exe "D:\MyDir\MyFile.ini"

(Positioner could read settings from the ini file)

This way Positioner could be used in a more wider field (SendTo, right-click menus, etc.).

Of course, when using cmd line, the main GUI won't displayed.

I would put the settings.ini file (and icon.gif, optionally) next to Positioner.exe, and put readme.txt and Changelog.txt to a folder named "docs". But that's only a cosmetic issue.

Also I don't think Positioner is a good name but neither I know a better one. What abut asking the community here (or elsewhere) to recommend one?

Anyway, I like the way Positioner is evolving, thanks for the efforts.

As you can see it has about 1 week of life, so needs some more improvements to become a complete and stable release. I'm working on it in my free time, but it is not so much
Anyway I'm trying to do a good app and follow your advices.. For example the software name is the first I thought, but we can decide and change it together ^^

About folder moving: I'll probably add it in a future release.
About command line usage: I'll add it in one of the next releases.
About both copy/move mode at the same time (different by file type): I'll consider if add this feature in a future release.
About SendTo, right-click menus etc: I don't know if there is a way to make these features portable..any idea?
About renaming: I'll probably add this feature in one of the next releases.
About transparency: I could try to add the support for % transparency in a future release..or you intend something different?
About problem with file format detection: I have fixed it, but removed support for double file formats like "paf.exe" (now is detected only "exe" in this case).

About right-click & sendto: I don't think you have to deal with that. If there'll be command line support the user can set up his own sendto and other items

That's a completely different program (a web-clipper/html snippet manager) than what bluelotuspyro was seeking (a file sorter).
