RQ Money [was "Personal Finance Manager"]

#1 Post by Darkbee »

[Mod Note: the present is the official forum topic for RQ Money; https://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1270]

Is anyone aware of a program that will allow me to keep track of my personal finances, on the move?

I currently use the full version (shareware) of AceMoney, but I don't think it's portable.

In general it's a fantastic program, with some great features (and also some features that I don't use). There is a lite version too but I think it restricts you to one account only (and I have more than one that I want to keep track of, hence I paid for the shareware version)

Any other suggestions would be welcome, assuming that AceMoney itself is not portable.

Have you tried to see if it is portable. There is a good topic on the forum that gives you a bunch of programs to test an application out: http://portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8

I can confirm that AceMoney is not portable, it stores settings in the registry. The clue was the batch file in the AceMoney directory, which is for exporting the relevant registry keys, so that you can backup your settings! :?

Money Manager EX

http://www.thezeal.com/software/index.p ... x:Download

I know, this is a quite old thread... but I found this app, which seems to be portable, even if I don´t know if it works with relative paths...

EDIT: yes, it works even wheb moved to another folder... :)

I downloaded the zip which (this is a bit weird) includes the uninstaller...

What do you think about it?

Hi!

I´ve found this interesting program: RQ MONEY

site: http://www.rq.sk/rqmoneyen.html

ddl http://www.rq.sk/RQMONEY.ZIP

evidence of credits and debits in household, advancement of auctions or leverage,
english, czech and slovak language,
provide quick view of actually finance ballance in various period by category or person filtering,
allows create optional count of files, each of them can protect by single password,
commands by transparent charts,
allows print reports, data export, searching, etc,
do not contain spyware, adware, malware,
is FREEWARE, no need to install (!), just unpack to optional directory,
all data stores into inbuilt SQLite database (open-source),
was created in programming language Rapid-Q (freeware).
It is portable, as almost all the applications made with RQ, and needs about 1,200 Kb on disk.

The executable is UPX compressed. If you receive AV alarms, then uncompress it and launch it again.

Topic update: RQ Money v2.4.3 released 2019-11-24 (changelog at https://www.rqmoney.eu/history.html).

RQ Money is a unique and excellent financial software program for households (only for OS Windows yet). And it has several advantages over similar programs: portable [...], really small size [...], very fast [...], user friendly [...], stable a safe [...], multilingual support, multiple awards and positive reviews [...], it is Freeware.

Image

There exists one limitation in program (from v2.0): If a user exceeds 2000 transactions (credits, debits or transfers) it stops work, following really symbolic functions: automatic back up of database, mass edit of transactions, export of modules Statistics and SummaryX, import of bank statements, writing of scheduled payments.

Considering that if a user processes 100 transactions a month (less than 5 transactions a day, on average, excluding weekends) s/he will it that ceiling in 20 months and the program will then be crippled unless paid, RQ Money is really demoware, IMHO.
