Can't say either way but definitely doesn't look good. The Archive.org page was already fairly old https://web.archive.org/web/20220202121 ... osure.com/ ... the latest version is listed as demo on Softpedia and the "buy" page is offline: https://www.plimus.com/jsp/buynow.jsp?c ... Id=2892154

You might look into StreamWriter https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2105 -- I found it somewhat annoying during initial setup, but it's packed with features.

Radio?Sure sure :) is an essential streaming program -- especially for this one feature I haven't seen replicated anywhere else: it remembers tracks playing and, should you decide to record one, it'll start from its beginning (or at least it will include everything it buffered to the effect).

As for the online stations database, I think the format is documented and conversion/updating utilities exist -- also part of RS clever design is you probably don't need to re-create the whole database, only add new entries...

Hi,

Like you I was a long time user. I believe Radiosure.com and its database won't be coming back anytime soon :( , the author (unknown) did not respond for years and the website was hosted in russia.

However a place to share some possible "new" RadioSure station database was recently created : https://github.com/JazzfanRS/Radiosure-station-database

But in the last few weeks I think I've found one of the most credible alternatives to Radiosure :

QMPlay2 (from Poland) : https://github.com/zaps166/QMPlay2/

(+) More than 30000 radios from 200 countries thanks to https://www.radio-browser.info/ ("This is a community driven effort (like wikipedia)... Any help is appreciated!")
(+) Free and open source, supports around ten languages, runs on Windows, Mac, Linux,.. and has been regularly updated since 2011.
(+) Displays album covers on some web radios. (Other advantages: Support for Flac, Ogg, AAC,.. / Equalizer / Streaming in https / ...)
(+) It is also a complete Audio-Video player (with support for CDs, Youtube, subtitles, "HLS" streams of TV channels, ...).
(+) For a "normalization" of sound between radios, see "Dynamic Range Compression" (in the settings of the "AudioFilters" module).
(+) Possibility to install it in portable mode : create empty file portable (without file extension) near the QMPlay2.exe file.

(-) The defaut interface is not configured for "Radio" use, but some “widgets” adjustments can be made for a much better rendering.
(-) To record a radio, you must indicate the address of the stream to the "Downloader" widget or go through the Playlist -> Extensions -> Download menu.
(-) No proposal for sorting the list of favorite radio stations. (But possibility to classify them by "drag and drop" with the mouse.)
(-) The "fading" option does not seem to work when switching from one radio to another.

Starting with the obvious, there are options in RS interface for entering individual stations, as well as importing and exporting the database (check the screencaps).

Upon inspection, the stations database is stored in a structured plain text file with an .RSD extension -- so I'm pretty sure it can be edited manually; my suggestion is you enter new entries individually into a favorites database using the program form, and then merge this 'favorites.rsd' into an updated 'database.rsd'...

For good measure, I'll share both the latest full database I have (from 2021-03-06) and a couple of my favorites, packed in an archive: https://mir.cr/1LOD807W

Lastly and just for fun, here's a capture of the skin I use ATM (it's called 7Sky) in a Radio?Sure PAF portable I got somewhere don't recall anymore...

Hi,

Radiosure no longer has access to new station databases. :| The team updating the database doesn't know how to work together again and how to simply share new updates. Most of the radios in the last database may no longer be valid in the coming months.

But there is still the possibility of creating or correcting radio links yourself, with the list of favorites and the use of a radio database such as https://www.radio-browser.info to find the correct links. (The Radio-Browser database is as complete as that of Radiosure and is continuously updated by a community of users. Unfortunately this database is not compatible with Radiosure. These software use it : https://www.radio-browser.info/users)

@Midas : Not bad at all this skin :) , personally I used "Angie 1". (With QMPlay2 colors and layout can be modified but there is currently no possibility to use skins. :| )

Good news. :)

On the Github repository created by "JazzfanRS", I proposed to create a converter to feed RadioSure with data from the Radio-Browser database.

And today "francois-neouser" has created one that should soon allow us to download new RadioSure database updates for years to come. :D

In unrelated idle curiosity, whatever prompted your change of name __philippe? (Or am I mistaken?)

hi Philippe

would really very nice an open source internet player like radiosure , with mp3 , aac , opus and even flac support
and with an automatic autoupdate

thanks for the link to Radio Browser, its about time this was done in one place instead of many different products always trying to compile stations on their own
