Hello ,
I have a folder with 100s of jpg images and I want to split each image in half lengthwise , exactly 50/50 ,
turn 400x600 into 200x600 .
Is there a program that can do this ?
Thanks
Is there a program that can do this , split images lengthwise?

1) Irfanview in batch mode (CLI): search.php?keywords=Irfanview+AND+Batch
Irfanview may do what you want, though i am not sure
Tons of information on the Irfanview Forum discussing batch/CLI mode (use google to translate when needed):

Irfanview Command Line Wiki:

2) Powershell: if you need to detect the size of the image (before processing by Irfanview), you can start reading at
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/fo ... ower-shell
https://code.adonline.id.au/script-to-l ... -to-excel/
Good Luck!
3) ImageMagick: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImageMagick ... and good luck here too, bcz Image Magick is not for the faint of heart!
and since you are apparently trying to process scanned pages:
4) Scantailor (Batch tool, seems to be portable)

https://github.com/4lex4/scantailor-adv ... 19.8.16_EA (the most recent version AFAIK)
Scantailor outputs the scanned pages where the text is centered and the margins around the text are defined by the user.
5) Book Restorer

.... Personally, I would use Scantailor ....!!! (and Book Restorer to repair the distorted pages).

If the end result is to be PDF, look at PDF Arranger in the database
https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2917
Forum post:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25393&hilit=pdf+arranger
It accepts bmps, jpgs, pngs and gifs, as well as pdf files of course. It can do batch (entire series of scans for one book).
I've used it on a number of scanned books so far, and it allows precision, for example when the book is smaller than the scan-page size, and there is a huge black right margin, or top margin. I simply split into multiple columns (or rows if there is a top or bottom margin I want to cut off).

The PhotoScape version posted to the database also does this. I did it a few years ago for some photo sheets I had saved and it worked great.vmars316 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 2:06 pm Just found out Photoscape X free version does a great job in Batch Mode .
