Call for entries

#1 Post by webfork »

In preparation for the 2020 vote on the best new program, I wanted to ask any community members to add any freeware to the database that you've been hesitating on. We are (not surprisingly) a little low on new entries vs. previous years (2018-2019, 2017, 2016), so if there are any programs you feel confident are portable and will get votes, please get them added before January. I'll run our standard "Best of" contest in the first week or two of 2021.

Thanks!

I added ConEmu (which was surprisingly not in the database already).

I had also added a few good tools before that I think deserve to be public (need votes):
  • ✅ NAPS2 (Open source)*: The best alternative I found to Windows default scanning interface. It supports batch save (to image/pdf) and scanner profile shortcuts, etc.
  • ✅ LightBulb (Open source)*: Blue light filter with gradual transition based on local sunrise/sunset and excluded apps, game mode and gamma polling.
  • TablePro (Abandonware): The best/lightest CSV (or other DSV) viewer/editor with lots of useful features (like batch tasks and calculated columns).
-------------
(*) Edit: These two were not originally added by me. Sorry for the mix-up.
