Playing SACDs on Windows

#1 Post by juverax »

The SACD (Super Audio CD) is a very limited niche requiring a special SACD reader:

To the best of my knowledge there are two Windows music players (free and portable) that can play an ISO image of a SACD, (but not the actual physical disc):

1) Album Player: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23039
A very nice application that claims to be portable - not discussed outside of this post.

2) Foobar https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=184
with
the Super Audio CD Decoder https://sourceforge.net/projects/sacddecoder/
It is a component for Foobar that must be installed: http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?ti ... Components
In addition, Foobar can convert the track to standard audio formats.
