DirectPlay is a deprecated tool that was used by past Windows' games.
I've tried to run an old game and it stated I must install DirectPlay.
But I don't want to do that just for 1 game, so is there a way to fake install DirectPlay?
I've tried to use Sandboxie to install DirectPlay via Windows' Optional Features, but it failed due to Sandboxie's seemingly lack of support for TrustedInstaller.
Attached is a Process Monitor log of everything this game tries run that doesn't end with "SUCCESS".
Is there any way to fool it into thinking DirectPlay is installed?
Alternatively, can anyone try (without Sandboxie) to figure out what does actually happen when you install DirectPlay?
