Portable DICOM viewers?

#1 Post by shnbwmn »

DICOM in the medical sense - the files you typically get on a CD/DVD for X-Rays, CT scans or MRIs. They normally come with proprietary viewing software of their own, however I would prefer copying the files to my ext HDD and viewing it with a more current (and full-featured) freeware/FOSS program.

I've come across various potential candidates: Ginkgo CADx, Mango, Agnosco, MAYAM/dcm4che, 3DimViewer, DICOMscope, MicroDicom.

Has anyone tested any of these? Or know of any others?

Apparently Irfanview can view DICOM files.

Also XnView (can show multipage files) and Imagine (not all types).
XnView > IrfanView > Imagine

MedImaView
Can be extracted with 7-Zip (there is .CAB file inside .MSI), seems stealth
