Wouldn't 7-Zip Portable (http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=796) do?

S.S.E. File Encryptor for PC (http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2822) is another option.

Hi,

I didn't really get what stealth was but I think you're right.
Thanks for the correction: I'll change it then.

(I guess my understanding/misunderstanding of stealth was that it referred to a program that writes to the registry and/or outside its own folder but removes such entries at program exit.)

Hi Pony
about stealth , i mean
For the purpose for this website, "stealth" means when an application is launched, used and terminated properly, it does not leave behind any entries in the registry or filesystem.
from the portable freeeware collection

i will test it much better
thanks

by the way it's weird there are so few options about an encyptor files program

I've tried a lot of tools and I recommend either 7zip (or PeaZip) to create 7z files. The reasons include:
  • Open source, actively developed, and it's been around for a long time
  • Broad support with tools available for most other platforms
  • Generally does well in performance tests
  • Compressed files are more secure on the whole as they don't have large areas of duplicate data where a weakness in a random number generator could be exploited
  • Fairly good command-line toolset to automate compression/encryption
You can also look into CryptSync (not portable), which uses 7zip to help compress+encrypt files for sharing on cloud storage services.

There are more available but I personally have avoided testing/adding them for reasons described here. If 7zip really doesn't work for you, you might try Protectoron or WinAES.
